Boost Staff Morale

Boosting staff morale can result in high motivation to work. Staff are a company's assets. If the management can boost the morale of the workplace and hence motivating staff to work, it is the company that benefits finally.

Creativity

Some companies offer incentives to boost staff morale such as giving them wedding gifts, birthday presents, and extra non-official holidays. But you certainly can be more creative in finding ways to boost morale of staff. For example, sending thank-you notes or emails to staff who have completed certain projects can be an encouragement to them.

Trust

In building up morale, keep in mind that trust is the key. Not only you have to trust your employees, but that you have to let them trust you as well. To build trust, you need to carry out your promises. If you have shown your care and good intentions, you have to make sure you do not pay lip service to them.

Role Model

In addition, be consistent in your beliefs and actions. Lead and be a role model to others. Convey optimism and enthusiasm to colleagues and they certainly will be influenced and motivated.

Sharing

When you find the morale is low in your workplace, talk to employees who have lost the motivation to work. Sometimes, it may be family or personal problems of employees that affect their mood to work. Understand their problems and try to offer help to improve their situations. Even if it is beyond your capability to help, a word of encouragement will certainly be a comfort to employees. In this way, they will be less stressful as they know that colleagues understand their situation and are willing to help. On the other hand, it may be you who are low in morale. Share your feelings with colleagues whom you can trust and let them know you are just a human being. Employees will appreciate your honesty and sincerity. They may in turn give you encouragement to boost your morale.
